Your Bhutan journey begins as you arrive at Bagdogra Airport. From there, we’ll travel towards Jaigaon, the Indian town located along the Bhutan border.

After completing the immigration formalities at the Pedestrian Terminal, you’ll officially enter Phuentsholing, the welcoming gateway to the Land of the Thunder Dragon.

Once you reach your hotel, complete the check-in process and take some time to unwind. If you’d like to explore the surroundings, a short visit to Zangtopelri Lhakhang, a peaceful temple in the heart of the town, is highly recommended.

In the evening, we’ll celebrate the beginning of your Bhutan adventure with a welcome cake and traditional Bhutanese wine. An interactive ice-breaking session will help everyone get acquainted, followed by a lively Karaoke Night and enjoyable group gathering at Samsara Club after dinner.

Scenic Himalayan Drive → Thimphu

After breakfast, get your luggage ready as we begin our scenic drive towards Thimphu, Bhutan’s picturesque capital city.

Following the immigration formalities, we’ll continue through beautiful mountain roads, making several memorable stops along the way.

Gedu Stupa: Pause at the peaceful Eight Dharma Kaya Stupas, a beautiful hilltop landmark offering spectacular views.

Lunch Stop: Take a break for lunch amidst the tranquil landscapes of the Bhutanese countryside.

Today’s journey takes you to the beautiful Punakha Valley. Carry a light backpack with your essentials and get ready for a day filled with stunning scenery, cultural landmarks, and optional adventure activities.

Dochula Pass (3,988 m): Our first stop is the breathtaking Dochula Pass, famous for its 108 memorial chortens and magnificent Himalayan views. It’s one of Bhutan’s most scenic mountain passes.

Chimi Lhakhang – The Fertility Temple: Enjoy a short walk to the renowned temple dedicated to Lama Drukpa Kuenley, famously known as the Divine Madman. The temple holds great cultural and spiritual importance.

Punakha Dzong: Visit the majestic Punakha Dzong, one of Bhutan’s finest architectural landmarks, beautifully positioned at the meeting point of two rivers.

Punakha Suspension Bridge: Walk across one of Bhutan’s longest suspension bridges while enjoying spectacular views of the surrounding valley and river.

Perched dramatically on a cliff nearly 3,000 feet above the Paro Valley, Tiger’s Nest is one of the Himalayas’ most spectacular landmarks. The trail passes through pine forests, colourful prayer flags, and stunning mountain viewpoints, making every step of the climb an unforgettable experience.

  • Distance: Bagdogra Airport to Phuentsholing is approximately 150.8 km and takes around 4 hours by road.
  • Airport Pickup : Group pickup is scheduled between 02:00 PM and 03:00 PM at Bagdogra Airport.
  • Airport Drop : Airport drop is scheduled at 04:00 PM. Please book your return flight after 6:00 PM onwards. Alternatively, you may choose to stay near Bagdogra Airport at your own expense and take a flight the next day.
